At CYBER KIDS there are seven formal levels of instruction. At each level there is different emphasis both in content and in philosophy depending on two parameters: age and prior knowledge.

In addition, there are courses that lead to specific examinations such as GCSE or following other industry-defined professional standards.

MINORS Levels

Children under 8/9 years of age may attend a MINORS class. There are two formal MINORS levels (MINORS A/B). Registration in any MINORS level depends solely on the age of the child and there is no requirement that one MINORS level be completed before attending the next one. If the child is still under 9, s/he can register for MINORS C before attending JUNIORS A.

Typical ages

Level Age
MINORS A 5-6-7
MINORS B 7-8 or MINORS A graduate
MINORS C 7-9 or MINORS B graduate but <9

Instruction at MINORS levels emphasizes mainly the psycho-social and mental development of the child and less the technical aspects of computer technology. The computer is used mainly as a tool to develop creativity, interest and self initiative in learning. Thus, the computer skills are learned by the children indirectly, by focusing attention on educational projects in a playful and friendly way.

JUNIORS Levels

JUNIORS A level typically has the highest enrolment rates because it accepts all children coming from MINORS levels as well as newcomers. Children with 1-3 years of prior computer experience (i.e., those who attended MINORS) mix with children with no experience at all. Juniors A emphasizes two areas: (a) Teaching practically all computer areas (i.e. Word Processing, Spreadsheet, Painting/Drawing, Multimedia, Programming, Design, Animation etc.), (b) the Cultivation of an organized and time efficient problem-solving attitude. JUNIORS A is a pre-requisite for a child to register to JUNIORS B.

Level Age
JUNIORS A 5-6-7
JUNIORS B Graduated JUNIORS A

SENIORS Levels

Typically, a CYBER Branch can have Senior level students only after the second/third year of operation.

The typical advanced (according to the CYBER Method standards) curriculum of SENIORS A/B can be attended only by children who have completed JUNIORS B.

Other children who wish to take professional examinations and fulfill the entrance requirements (prior computer experience, age, etc.) may register for other SENIORS A/B alternatives. The curriculum for such alternative Senior level paths is completely different and follows either National Programs for Professional Examinations, or the British GCSE Curriculum.
